ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGY

The Tran Duc Group are committed to sustainability for both our business and the environment. Through membership of environmental non-government organizations (ENGO's) and proactive engagement with our clients, government and industry groups the Tran Duc Group are on the leading edge of environmental, legality and CoC issues associated with the international trade in forest products. Our proactive approach, membership affiliations and network provide our customers with confidence in our ability to meet their needs and operate sustainably.

We are members of Global Forest and Trade Network -  World Wildlife Fund (GFTN - WWF). In our processing facilities we operate Chain of Custody (CoC) systems in accordance with the requirements for maintaining our Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), CoC Certification.

All of our timber is purchased from forests which are either FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified .  Currently we source from Uruguay, South Africa and Brazil (FSC certified forests) and Sabah - Malaysia and locally within Vietnam. We do not import timbers from ‘at risk’ countries and regions such as Laos, Burma or Central Africa.

Being proactive is crucial in helping ensure the sustainability of our business. The Tran Duc Group have recently began purchasing our own forests within Vietnam. In 2007, we purchased 1500 hectares of existing Acacia Plantation in Dak Nong, Vietnam..
